24 December 2022

December 24th is a wonderful day but this particular day had a sad element to it. We welcomed David and Sandra back to working with the Foundation in October but David has had some health issues in adjusting back to the altitude here in Quito. They have returned to the US to get those things straightened out. They are continuing to serve God through a local ministry there in C.C Texas called Tide Changers. They are working with families that do not have dads present in the home. It´s an awesome opportunity for them and the families they´ll be serving. Plus, it´s at sea level so David won´t have the health stresses of living at 9500 feet elevation. We wish them well and thank God for the time they were here with us. We love them very much.

This was our second anual Foundation Staff Christmas party. It was great to be able to bless our staff with Gina´s awesome homemade fettuccini alfredo, a Christmas bonus and wonderful fellowship. We are certainly blessed with this team and the capabilities that God has equipped them with. They truly demonstrate the love of Jesus to the children and families we serve in the Foundations.

18 December 2022

We had our Christmas party for the Foundation and we had an awesome time. Thanks to the support from Madison Bible church, we had gifts for the children. There were other special gifts given to help us with the cost of the party. We baked four turkeys with all the customary US side dishes. It was great. I was able to present the Gospel using a red velvet cake with white icing as Jesus´ birthday cake. The white representing the perfect Son of God and the red velvet representing the blood He shed for us. We played a lot of games and had families competing against other families. It was a lot of fun. In the picture, we were preparing to play a game where there were chocolate bars wrapped up in 90 meters of cellophane. Each person got 10 seconds to unwrap it before having to pass it on. The package went around the room three times before it was finally unwrapped. The final person received a huge food basket as the winning prize. Towards the end, this game was really exciting.

We have a new partnership with an organization called Living and Learning. U.S.  College students get the opportunity to study abroad and serve the community with local organizations in the country they go to. From Right to Left, we had the pleasure of having Carlissa and Rachel serving with us for three months. A young man named Lance also came but he is not in the picture. While they study in an Ecuadorian University, they also serve in the capacity of their degree plan. Carlissa is studying Psychology so she was able to work with our Psychologist at the center. Rachel is studying Childrens Ministry so she was all over the place here. Lance played a lot of soccer with the kids. We were very grateful to have them and I think everybody was blessed by their time with us.

19 October 2022

David and Sandra DeLeon have returned from the States to work with us at the Foundation. They´ll be heading up the program for the preschoolers in the morning. In the afternoons, Sandra will be discipling young mothers and David will be helping with controlling the daily chaos of getting kids to their next session within the Foundation.

12 September 2022

The kids are in school for part of the day, afterwards, they come to the center. Part of their time here includes a bible discipleship class. We rotate the kids through the center when they´re here before or after school. Their time always includes bible time and homework time. The other slots are filled with games, English class and sometimes a trip to the park for playing.

8 September 2022

School has started and the kids are working on homework in the computer room. The Ecuadorian Education system really puts an emphasis on homework to reinforce what they learned that day.

1 September 2022

School starts this week for all of the kids. These guys were receiving their school supplies, thanks to their sponsors who God has used to provide these things for them. Uniforms are next.

27 August 2022

This Saturday, we had another parenting class. Maribel and Rigo did a great job teaching parenting skills and encouraging the parents with God honoring methods to raise their children with.

26 August 2022

The staff took the kids on a field trip to a recycling center. The kids learned so many things about recycling to include many other ways to care for the creation God has given us.

23 August 2022

Wayne and Grant from the Orphanos home office came to visit and encourage us with their support. They both joined in on an intense game of soccer.

17-19 August 2022

Towards the end of the summer school break, we took our staff on a retreat at the Bellavista Camp. We had a great time of rest as well as some incredible classes to help us work better as a team.

20-28 July 2022

A team from Wall Highway Baptist Church came to work with us during this week. They put on a great summer program for the kids and helped with some construction projects. We were blessed by their time with us.
